My cat keeps missing the litter tray!
My 13 year old cat has given up going outside to pee/poo. She now has a litter tray in the house but whenever she pees in it the pee shoots straight over the side of the tray and onto the floor (lovely). Obviously the sides are not high enough. She's not active enough to jump into a high sided box and I don't think she'd use one of those fancy covered trays with a cat door. Any ideas? P.S. I live in a tiny cottage so can't designate a tennis court sized tray!

Where i was not have a problem with the girls the boys, especially the larger ones, would position themselves in the box an invariably their behinds would hang over the edge. Boy also i know have a tendency to pee straight out or up. Females my do the same thing. Try getting a litter pan with a lid so that it keeps her in the confines of the tray and if she happens to pee up inside of the lid it will then run down in to the litter and not the floor. Make sure the lid has an inner "lip" that will cover the inner edge of the tray so the pee wont leak over or through the join between lid and tray(hope that makes sense?) If you cant find a lidded tray then a bigger tray might help.
