How do we get rid of mice?
2 Answers
We seem to have a problem with mice in this house. They come to stay in the winter each year. Last year Rentokil came and laid some traps and blocked some holes, but they've made their way back this year.
We've also tried live traps but they managed to gnaw their way through these. Has anyone had any success with the ultrasound ones that you plug in the walls? Also, are they safe for children? (we've got a one-year old).
Are there any other effective methods that people have found?
Thanks.

We had a problem with mice running through our living room so we have one in there... now we only see them in the kitchen. I guess my advice would be to try everything and to make sure that you re-bait traps (best to stick to snap traps I'm afraid) regularly and change the position of traps every 2 weeks. Also, we had a mice catching night a couple of evenings ago and blocked off the kitchen from kids and the dog, and placed a trap baited with cheddar IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROOM!!! We caught loads in one night.
Oh yeah, those ultrasound things are perfectly safe for kids and non rodent pets, do not use if you keep rats, hamsters, gerbils etc.
