My six month old dog has been trained to go to loo on puppy pads in the kitchen. Now he will not go in the street or the back yard of our house. Help.

If he doesn't go first time don't worry ..repeat the practice and he will soon get the message .When he does perform praise him, make a fuss of him and perhaps give him a little treat.
I am not a believer in these puppy pads and stuff ..as soon as they are old enough and able to go outside they can be toilet trained easily enough with a bit of patience. Get him into a routine of being put outside after meals ,last thing at night and first thing in the morning.

yes putting the puppy pads outside is a good idea it worked with our lab and newspaper altough she was a lot younger. She had to go on the paper as i had a young baby and could not always rush to her when she needed to goor did not notice the subtle asking to go out. She got the hang of it quite quite quick. If you point to the pads and use the key word they soon wee to order. Pick a good key word though as i feel quite daft pointing to a grassy patch saying "on your paper". Handy for getting wee samples too. We then tought her to bark to let us know she wanted the door opening and then even if i was busy with baby i did not miss a subtle hanging around the door to go out. Good luck. Dont forget lots of praise when they get it right.
