Although I empty the tray regularly, there appears to be a build up in the corner where my cat pees. it doesn't seem to budge, even with scrubbing with a brush and disinfectant. Does anyone have a way of getting rid of this?

hi i have hijacked my mam's site! i use wood cat litter pellets,u can get them from asda and pets at home.when you empty the tray the whole lot comes away and you dont even need to wash the tray as the pellets break down into a sort of sawdust and prevent anything hitting the tray itself, plus the smell is a lot less pungent,i would buy a new tray first tho as it sounds like your old one is beyond help!
Glad you asked this question as I have the same problem - will try the pellet idea out!
some cats are fussy about their litter though and I have tried the wood pellets huge bag and my cat hated it. I can only use the expensive crystals now which are great. I'm sure my cat must have been royalty the way he is sometimes.
maybe if you bought another tray, then you could soak the first one overnight with zoflora [it smells nicer] disenfectant, and use alternatively, other than that add bleach to the water whilst soaking.
