strange cough

could a non productive cough be a sign that my stitches have become infected? stitches are supposed to be dissovable but have been there 3 weeks and are getting a bit sore. ive now developed a cough which is unlike any cough i usually get. my usual cough when i get a cold is quite productive, but this is a dry, persistent cough. the reason i am following this line of thought, is that i read recently that one sign that a cat has an infection from a skin wound, is that it develops a cough. i realise i am not a cat, but its got me concerned. ive had the cough a week and seems to get no better, nor worse.

most likely just a tickle in your throat - perhaps a very mild cold? (Remember there are different viruses causing colds, so they needn't be all alike.) I sometimes get them for weeks, which annoys everyone else at least as much as me.
