Have you tried one of the pooper scoopers. It avoids you having to handle it's poo to some extent.
You place a dog poo bag inside it and as it is made of plastic, close the scoop together and tie the bag shut.
Go to your nearest pet shop and they will have different ones for sale.
Got to say, picking up your dog's poo is not too bad, but I know some people can be a bit squeamish about it.

lol crete :-), you should see the size of the deposits our dog leaves hehe....
I'm afraid it's mind over matter, I put the bag over my hand, grab deposit :-(, and deftly fold the bag over and tie!!!
Out for walks, means I put it in another bag so I'm not wandering around with poo bag to hand.... and then.... the bit I think is the actual worse bit?
Opening the dreaded dog poo bin lol.... but, I saw the bloke that comes and empties them, and shoves them in the back of his van... I've got that down as the worst job ever!!!
So, for your lovely, possible new addition? suck some very strong mints whilst doing the poop scoop ;-)

I don't think you'll find it difficult at all. I was a bit worried about that with my cat but I've found that it doesn't bother me at all cleaning out his litter tray or indeed cleaning up the occassional hair ball he throws up!
I think its like with kids - the idea of dirty nappies makes you feel ill until its your own kids nappies then it doesn't bother you!

there are other things you may have to deal with other than poo, and if that makes you cringe, I think you should think long and hard about having a dog. My husband is the same, would only remove it if it had been baked in the sun for a week!! - you have to consider a dog sometimes has digestive problems and the 'poo' is stuck to them - so they have to have a bath. Think about it before committing!
My dogs are fed on Eukanuba and only do little hard sausage like poos which I pick up with a plastic carrier bag if I am out, or a kiddies plastic spade at home. You could use rubber gloves.
There is a spray you can get which 'freezes' the poo and covers it in a sort of white foam which is supposed to make it easier to pick up, but I have never tried it.
As others have said, there are often other reasons for dogs producing nasty substances, and if you are that squeamish then maybe a dog is not for you. Whatever you decide, if you do get a dog then it is your responsibility to clean up after it.

I feed mine with a few elastic bands in every meal, this way all of the poos have little hoops to pick them up!!!
We are hoping to get an Irish Wolfhound soon (the largest dog breed in the world) but got to wait until carakeel has had both er knee ops before we can go ahead.
Now that is big poo!!! you don't need a doggy bag you need a wheel barrow!!!
