mouth drooping dog

A friend's dog has a drooping mouth and she has to feed him by spooning and uses a syringe to give him water. The vet says it is to do with nerve endings and should clear up in a few months. It has now moved up to his eye. Has anyone had their dog have this symptom and what was the prognosis/

Yes one of my dogs had this problem some years ago.Everything went back to normal in about six weeks.Its very similar to bells palsy which can occur in humans>If I remember right the vet did not give any medication for my dog,but as I say it was some years ago and things might have improved since then.
