Nice question. It has been documented that a long-haired guinea pig in Peru called Stimpy, lived to be 136 years.
Actually Queen Victoria met Stimpy on a state visit to Peru in 1899, when even then, he was 28 years old.
Stimpy died last week. He still took a wee dram every night and was partial to the odd King Edward cigar.
A state funeral was held in Lima for him, and was attended by some of his offspring. Actually there were over 6 million guinea pigs there. Stimpy led quite an active life! May he RIP. Hope this helps.
