This year instead of a tree i had some christmas fishes. Now, christmas is over one of my fishes (goldfish) appears to be spending alot of his time upside down! is this normal??

If he's rubbing up against things (like rocks) he could have something fungal thats irritating him. If you're not an expert with fish, take a sample of water down to your local aquarium/garden centre and ask them to test it, as he might contaminate the tank and then you'll lose all of them. It also depends on what type of fish he is, I know you say goldfish, but that still leaves a lot of choies - for instance, there is a type of catfish, that does nothing but swim upside down.
