Dogs And The Telly

i have just been told dogs cant see the telly, i beg to differ as both my dogs look at the telly when dogs or football are on. Whos right??

You are right. Of course cats and dogs can see tv .Two of my dogs are very fond of watching tv

My Collie loves sports, and watches the football, but what gets him the most is golf! He will watch it (he recognises the swing and the camera moving as the ball lands!) and then hunt round the back of the TV for the ball! It breaks my heart to tell him there's nothing there!

Apparently in America the screen pixel makeup is different so dogs over there can't really see it.

Oh I neglected to mention that my friend's dog watches other dogs on TV and howls!!

I've had 2 dogs that watched TV. My old rottie watched The Incredible Journey from start to finish mesmerised and my rottie pup watched 1 man and his dog and went around the back of the TV to find the sheep. Not coincidence, they were really watching. I've had other dogs who didn't though.

Her handicap is 12.
She really does become fascinated as the ball moves across the screen and tries to get it.

Our old cat Bouncer loved snooker, and like Lisa's dog, every time a ball was potted he was under the telly looking for it!

my dog Taz watches the horse racing, he probably thinks they are big dogs.

My cat loves Sci Fi films, probably because of the flashing lights and noise.

My sisters westie sat through a whole film which starred matt damon and was about horses. He also definately watches other animals on tv.
