Do spiders jump?

do they jump? I have never actualy seen them jump...but do they?

Some can yes, the wolf spider is well known for this
Certainly, though must of them can't jump very high, so they tend to jump down rather than up.
If you startle them, yes.

Seriously, the small black and white striped ones normally found on walls certainly jump, and quite a distance.

I hate spiders and have seen quite alot of them jump, Yuk I have gone all goosey now!
One landed on my keyboard while was at the computer - I nearly sh*t myself! Don't know where it came from, must have dropped down from the ceiling. It was not one of the normal big black jobs that wander round the top of my wall
but a brown one, about an inch across including the legs. I managed to get it into a mug and tipped it out into the garden.
