Just for information purposes - After being quoted 10 a day to look after said hamster (!), I got a call today to say that (another company) will only look after the hamster on a 'house sitting' basis, i.e. they live here to look after the hamster!! A HAMSTER!! Is it me or has life gone mad?

Maybe you should think about getting the hamster a pet passport and taking him with you!
Tell us where you are, someone on here will help you out I am sure.
Awwww...how tiny would that passport be....lol. But, like I said, I'll have him if you're nearby.

I KNOW! The thing, sorry hamster (honey if you're interested(twink if I had my own way by the by)) only cost a fiver! We're in Derby. and I may have roped in work colleagues/friends, but I still can't quite believe what people expect to be paid! A HAMSTER!!!
Got a friend in Sawmills who would do it if you are stuck.
What a pity you're nowhere near Lancs, I'd have done it for you for nothing too.

The pet sitting service I work for doesn't charge that much and we also collect mail, water flowers, close curtains, feed fish etc. as well as look after the small pets. Sorry I don't live in your part of the world or I would have looked after it for nothing too! I can't imagine that someone would need to live in with a hamster for goodness sake - they are obviously having a laugh!
