Wild Baby bunny

Oh no, my cat has just caught a baby bunny, he has left it for me on my back lawn - poor wee thing is stunned, what shall I do with it, I have brought it inside and its in a cardboard box and some hay, have put box in a dark quiet room, bunny doesnt look injured and it breathing and pricking its ears up, will it be ok ?

It may be OK, but the shock can kill it. A friend of mine came across one that had been hit by a car and was stunned, she nursed it back to health by keeping it in the house for six months, it now has its own hutch and run outside as she has become too attached to it! I dont know if it would be able to find its mom now if you put it back outside, or whether it would survive on its own?

This rabbit is not likely to go looking for its mother! Rabbits are independant and capable of looking after themselves at a month old. Chances are the mother has another litter by now. If it has come to its senses then find somewhere quiet to let it go. Even if it survives chances of it reaching adulthood are slim- 90% mortality rate... which is probably a good job in a way as we would be overun with them otherwise!

Aw, thanks for your replies, but I checked on baby bunny this morning and it had died, I was so upset....but have buried it now....so looks like it shock could have killed it. Its so sad.... such is life...
