On terry and gaby the other day, Danny Baker said there was no difference between frogs and toads, that toads weren't real it was just a description of warty frogs or something like that. However after a google i find sites that say there is such a thing as a toad. Was danny baker talking pants?

In short - YES
.....and a longer Yes!

There are two species of Frog and two of Toad in Britain - Common and Marsh Frog - Common and Natterjack Toad. Is Danny Baker the only peson who doesn't know that Frogspawn is in clumps whilst Toadspawn is in long strings? I doubt it, this sounds like a giant wind-up.

Well let's look at the evidence: You were watching Danny Baker...
you were watching him on Terry and Gaby...
and you were watching them on Channel Five...

Thank you and yes I know! Not the most reliable source of info but look at the choice, phil and fern or good old tel and gabs!
Just as a quick aside... I was unfortunate enough to witness some thickheaded announcer recently (day, time and channel, I can't recall unfortunately) who stated as a throwaway remark, that frogs were amphibians and toads are reptiles! (perhaps it was the other way around, but you see my point) To make matters worse he stated it in a superior tone of voice as if it was obvious!
Incidentally, I was out walking with my sister and her dog the other day... The dog did exactly what was expected of her and my sister dutifully produced a small bag and scooped up her (the dog's, not my sister's) doings for later disposal! It was at that point I realised that the little bag she was using had no specific name! I would therefore suggest that it should henceforth be known as either a "Danny or Baker Bag". After all, both are full of shi... well you take my point!
This Danny Baker bloke sounds like a tosspot.
I think it was Miles Kington who pointed out that Nature (or God) in its infinite wisdom seems to have made almost every species unique - except for one other. So, there's nothing like a butterfly - except a moth. There's nothing like a rabbit - except a hare. There's nothing like a frog - except a toad. And so on.
