can blue tits interbreed with other birds of the tit family. have seen runty looking bird on feeder. we have a whole family of great tits and they are much bigger.

The "runty" bird could be a blue tit that has raised a brood of chicks. We have 5 nest boxes in our garden and the parent birds look decidely tatty after looking after their babies.
