Holly tree leaves falling

I have a holly tree in my back garden.
Last Spring we landscaped the back garden which may have damaged the roots. Leaves turned yellow and fell off the tree.
This Spring to now the same is happening although without sign of let up.
Should we persevere for another year or get rid of the tree? (No berries last year either)
