English Bulldog

I have fallen in love with the very cute English Bulldogs and have so far read they are great with children and even better petsI would never leave him and my son together on there own but would be nice if they got on, can anyone confirm this

Bull breed dogs are not great with other pets or any dogs you may meet while taking them out for a walk, although the english bulldog are better than most. From what I have heard they are good family pets, and mostly good with children, although as with all breeds, there will be exceptions. As we are experiencing warm weather (just for a change) it is worth mentioning they are extremely heat intolerant and a common complaint is dry eye and ingrowing eye lashes.

Dont let me put you off - I am very anti SBT's at the minute, they out number any other breed in my area by 5 - 1 and the owners either have them loose off the lead with no control whatsoever and they chase my dogs, or they are so aggressive they can barely keep them restrained.

Do you mean Bulldogs (there is no such breed as an English Bulldog or British Bulldog) or Bull Terriers (which are often called English Bull Terriers)? Bulldogs do have a super temperament but you have to remember that they are limited in the amount of exercise they can take especially in the warm weather. They are not a breed that will take a lot of playing with by rough children, although I would not let a child do this with any dog.

Bull Terriers are great fun but very strong willed dogs,
particularly the males. They are ok with children provided the children are sensible.

Winnie means a bulldog, but most people know them as english or british bulldogs. I just checked online and in local puppy adverts and that is how people advertise them for sale.

thank you for your comments .I have heard they can be very stubborn but as with all of my past dogs she will be going to dog training.
