hi, i was on here a while back, asking questions about fish, and somebody mentined putting a frozen pea in the tank for them to play with. I have tried this and they seem to enjoy it, but is this supposed to be instead of feeding them, as do they not then eat the pea?, or should i feed them a bit less?, or should I simply fish the pea out when they are done with chasing it?
Thankyou in advance for your help!
There are only 4 fish in the tank at the moment if that means anything!

I really don't think you need to put anything in to amuse them (or is it for you amusement? lol)

Fish do love to eat peas, along with the odd slice of cucumber. I tend to throw in a few peas (cooked and peeled) once a week for them instead of their normal flaked food.

they do seem to enjoy it though dont they!!!! am i mad?!
but thankyou, at least i no not to feed them now if i do do it!
I was only reading about this last week! Apparently eating a pea helps to keep their swim bladder healthy. In fact it can be a treatment if you have a fish with this problem. I only got some fish last week and threw one in and they have completely ignored it! The book said to defrost a pea, take the shell off and throw in the split pea. Hope this helps.
