have dry excema in patches behind my legs, on my trunk, sometimes under one eye, but really suffering from itchy skin behind my ears scalp feels sensitive and looks like little eruptions that keep coming out of my body not many but they are small and crusty they appear like that, no spot just erupt like this, worried that the itching could be sign of liver disease no rash as such just these wee eruptions!

Sounds more like an allergic reaction to something rather than liver disease, puddicat. The itching in liver problems usually starts on the palms of your hands and they become quite red.Think of where the first eruption started, if it was something like perfume or hairdye then it would start in the area you applied it and then migrate out to other parts of your body. I have problems with shellfish, citrus fruits, milk and wheat and have very similar problems as you are describing if I eat any of these things. Hope that helps I would go and talk to your doctor and he may give you something to help your condition.

thanks moon, dont eat shellfish, but for the others yes, it seems to be round my middle and the top of my leg, so i assume it could be food, it maybe dairy or wheat will have to eliminate both to see which one it is thanks anyway thank goodness dont have to give up the wine lol
Hiya, puddicat. My husband used to get something very similar when he was on night shift. He never got it when on other shifts & the Dr said it could be some form of stress, triggering it. He didn't suffer from eczema normally. Have you been stressed lately? The other suggestion is to try an emollient, if you don't already use one. Am I allowed to recommend on this site? At the risk of getting banned, ask your GP for something like Diprobase cream - it really helps. K xx

cheers kleiber i do nightshift there might be a connection,as for stress maybe its cos i cant sleep very well any tips from your hubby how he gets around this, the everyday noise! and can i buy diprobase over the counter as i begrudge paying nearly 7squid for a precription, many thanks
'morning, puddicat! I'm afraid I can't ask hubby any more (he died almost 2 years ago), but I seem to remember he got some cream from the Dr - I think it was a topical steroid, but it didn't work very well. Diprobase is prescription only, but some GPs may have samples they could give you to try - better still, see your Practice Nurse & ask. Alot of them will give you a few samples of different things, so you can see which one suits you best. Alternatively, you can buy something like E45 over the counter, also stuff to put in your bath, like Oilatum. Having said that, the ones you get on prescription are better & Diprobase comes in a big pump dispenser (ask for it) so at least you're getting your money's worth!
Puddicat, I was wrong this morning - I think you can get it over the counter (check in the pharmacy). Check the price, though, cos it might be cheaper to pay for the prescription!

Hi kleiber so sorry about your husband, trust me to upset you, anyway when i get a chance will go into pharmacy and check the prices out take care and thank you for info!
Aw, don't worry, mate - Thursday'll be a bad day, it'll be 2 years then. Don't know what I'll do - but my son & I will be having Peking Duck for dinner, it was his favourite (and it's ours!) Luv, K xx
Question Author
can i ask where you are kleiber?are you in scotland
No - I wish I was, though, cos that's where I'm from originally. I now live in west Wales (up a mountain, on my little farm - it's lovely) K xx
Question Author
evening kleiber, computer was playing silly sods i live in fife, where are you from originally?living in a wales sounds idyllic is it!
I had an aunt in Glenrothes. I'm originally from Monifieth, but I've been told it's been swallowed up by Dundee now (shame, it was a lovely wee village). Yes, where I am now is as near to Scotland as I s'pose I'll get - it reminds me of there when I was a wee lass. The people round here are really friendly and everyone looks out for one another. I have a smallholding in the Cambrian Mountains - 5 acres of peace & quiet - no neighbours, just the animals (sheep & chickens now) and the wildlife - red kites, buzzards, ravens, foxes ('nuff said...!), hedgehog who comes for his supper every evening and my 5 cats & 2 dogs. It gets lonely, sometimes, without the love of my life, but at least I've still got my son living at home - not that I see much of him, he's 18 & off out most nights! I was going to come to Scotland for a short break this summer, but having the committment of the farm made it impossible. Maybe someday soon... (wish!) K xx
Ask your pharmasist for a big tub of Aqueous cream!! Its only about 2 for a massive 500ml tub and it lasts for about 2 months!! I use it for everything!! You can use it instead of soap which is what really cleared up my excema!! I use it as a moisturiser and eye makeup remover!! Its water based so completely safe!!
Hi, taliesin - yes, I'd agree with that - that stuff i rcommended earlier can be used instead of soap, too. You can also use it in the shower. How's the weather in North Wales? It's piddling down here in Ceredigion!!!

Thanks, puddicat. It's not been too bad today (see my post in Family) Nice of you to think about me. Small world, you in Glenrothes, same as my aunt. You're not married to my cousin, are you??!!
puddicat.
Take yourself into the Kindom Centre for the day and do some retail therapy lol
if the rash that appears is joined together it will be an allergic reaction but if the rash is separate, it will be something else, does that make sense
