Cruel madness !

Our local Telegraph carried this disturbing story tonight of a poor dog owned by a woman in the next town to my area. How on earth can anyone neglect their pets ?

How on earth is a paltry fine of �500 going to be any form of deterrent? She probably claims more than that on benefits!

Stories like this make my blood boil with anger- I can't comprehend how anyone can do this.

It beggars belief!

Also, i've never fully understood the "banning of dogs for life" punishment (hah!), doe's some sort of authority do periodical checks to find out if they do have dogs or what?

As i said in an earlier post on a similar subject, it makes you want to do something extremely nasty and painfull to the people who do this sort of thing.

This sort of story makes me more than angry.
I will never understand why people can be so cruel. She ought to have been given a prison sentence at least. In fact, even that would be too good for her.!!!!

Yes BOO, I really don't know what to say except that fine is no punishment , how come there is no prison sentence for killing her pet !!!

She should be chained to a wall with food and water just out of reach and left to rot .Swine .

I cannot understand how anyone can do this to a dumb animal. I often wonder, when you hear these cases of animal cruelty ,that if they can do something so awful to an animal ,how do they treat their children and fellow human beings .

Oh bigmamma I dont know how the others feel but it gets me down all this cruelty.I feel so ashamed of some "human" beings if thats what you can call them.It makes you wonder where its going every day you read these awful things, why oh why is there not stronger laws for these poor animals. g.

My sentiments on this are same as everyone else.

They should lock this evil wicked women up in a stinking prison cell, with no food or water & throw away the key!

She doesn't deserve breathing in the same air as us!

Shaneystar , that was my first reaction too , chain her up with just empty plates and pans next to her.
Yes garner , she is not human surely !
Smudge , she has done such an evil thing to the poor dog , I hate to think of her even having children too. The paper had a picture of the poor dog , God bless it.

WHAT?? Oh god that is just, oh, well, it just beggars belief. What the hell is wrong with people? She must seriously have been mentally damaged. I mean, how could she be "horrified"? She lived with the poor animal-she had taken responsibility for its care. How has she still got a child? I am just appalled. Ashamed to be human :(

I'd just shoot her, her poor child would be better off, animals would be better off, society would be better off.

As it is "WE" the tax payers will be paying her fine, probably rehousing her, with a heafty sum of money to help her settle in to her new home.

I keep calling her "her" when I should be saying bitch.

I've been thinking more and more about this and I just can't understand how anybody can do something like this.On the one occasion a year when Max has to stay in kennels (for a long week-end) I still worry about him even though I know he is going to be well looked after in kennels he's stopped at since he was a pup

Hi there, leelapops love , I can't understand that either , and was she actually in the kitchen while the poor animal lay there , was she cooking or washing up in there !!! How can .....words fail me.
Horsesachel , looks like she will not be properly punished for her crime does it.
Paddywak , I can't get my head around it either , I love my dog and after reading that I gave her an extra cuddle .

If she can do that to a dog what would ahe do to a kid.
