Dog and broom

I thought it was only a human who did silly things like treading on the brush end and getting the handle in the face ......well it isn't ....ha ha , my dog trod on the yard brush and was really surprised when the handle jumped towards her and knocked her head. Have you any pet tales of little silly things like that ? xxx

One of my bitches ran after the ducks in the pack when the pond was flooded, and over the top of a wall - one minute she was walking on the path, the next she was swimming in the pond, you should have seen her face! I was out walking with my lot the weekend and noticed that the puppy was dragging behind, little did I know he had got a pot noodle tub stuck on his nose, I thought I had been getting some funny looks!

One of my cats is a fatty (not sure why) but he has a habit of climbing on the arm of the sofa and jumping across to the table about 2 feet away. Well one day he didnit quite make it and just like a Tom & Jerry cartoon he held on to the table cloth with front claws and slowly slid down leaving two tears down the side, he then did a back flip and ran off with his hackles up. Wish I had filmed him I could have got 250 on You've Been Framed.
Ah I am tickled! What a fab thread!
Much like jules' story, Jack was off the lead in the park, spotted a moorhen and ran after it, but pavement suddenly turned to water and I don't think he knew what to do!
He also started fight with an orange highlighter pen on top of my study stuff the other night!
jules, your new one is adorable! All fluff and twinkly eyes!
Is Porsche OK, bm? After the embarrassment she must've suffered?! X

Hi BM,
My horse Risky is the funniest thing in the world. When I muck him out in the morning he picks up the broom with his teeth and tries to sweep up with it, he is just so funny.
He also pretends to faint when I try to see to a cut or poorly spot on him. Recently he's taken to throwing his feed bucket at me over his stable door.
And when we win competitions, I put his rosettes and trophies on his stable shelf, and he whinnies at people going past and nudges the rosettes as if to say "check this out!!! Look what we brought home today"

The Zen Buddhists say ;" When the student is ready, the teacher will appear".
Well, my teacher appeared just as I was on the verge of a breakdown.
People often underestimate the power of these creatures in their lives. When ever I see I thread like this I read it and it lifts my spirits. So thank you xxxxxx

Our old golden retriever Gemma used to do silly things all the time. Once we were on a canal boat for a few days. Moored up one sunny evening she was wandering about on the bank when she spotted a rabbit on the opposite bank. She lept on to the boat , ran straight across it and off the other side, not realising the other bank was further away than she thought. It was exactly like those cartoons where wily coyote runs off a cliff and his legs keep running in mid air before he stops, looks down, gets an "oh s***" look, then falls. She did exactly that before belly flopping into the water! Pulling a large soaking wet retriever from a canal is not easy!
When she was a puppy she also ran down an icy slope in winter and all four legs went out from under her - she slid on her stomach straight into a hedge and staggered out looking really startled!

She was fine - just soggy! She spent quite a lot of her life in water - her favourite activity being dredging for stones! She would paddle about in any lake/river/stream/pond and dig with her feet at stones under the water, then she's stick her head under (usually leaving her ears floating on the surface!) and pull out the biggest rock she could find. she'd then drag it to the shore, leave it and go and get another one. She always left them in a neat pile on the shore and would carry on doing it until you dragged her away. I think quite a few lakes and rivers were deeper by the end of her long life! She was a wonderful dog who I still miss a lot, even 7 years after she died.
all of your stories have had me giggling so heres mine.
we used to have a persian cat "Lucy" and she loved to sit next to you on the arm of the chair. someone had left a news paper on the arm one day and she jumped up as usual only to have grabbed the paper, losing her grip and falling on the floor along with the paper, she must got a fright because she scarpered.
i still laugh about it now even though shes not with us any more.
