three cliffs bay - gower, south wales
ive just spent all afternoon driving around the gower peninsula trying to find three cliffs bay which was voted the best beach/view in britain recently.
i know i was in the right area (i parked at oxwich bay and could see 3 cliffs in the distance ) but could not find a road or carpark nearer to 3 cliffs from where i could make my way to the beach itself.
can anyone direct me?

There is a lay-by further along the road towards Swansea where you get the most fantastic view. To actually reach Three Cliffs Bay (but to be honest one of the best views is from the lay-by) I usually park by the golf club at Pennard and walk down the path to Pobbles Bay which is next to Three Cliffs. Or you can park at Nicholston (by the shop) and walk down from there, though that is a longer walk than from Pennard.
Next time consider driving a little further along to the end of the Gower to Worms Head (near Rhossili).
There is a huge public car park there and you get this view

This view is every bit as good as Three Cliffs (maybe better).
The rock in the distance is the Worms Head, and when the tide is low you can walk out to the end which is an amazing experience (hard work though)
Here is the Worms Head from above to show you how far it sticks out to sea. You can walk right to the end.
