As far as I am aware, the only way you can get hold of his pedigree is by knowing the name of the breeder, I cant think of any other way. And even if he is a pedigree, he may not have been registered, and papers can mean two things, a pedigree and/or registration with the KC.
I dont think 'papers' are worth the paper they are written on, as breeders can, and do, register litters with incorrect parents. So if you knew the breeder and asked for a pedigree, she could put the pedigrees of any of her male and female JRT's together as the parents and you would be none the wiser, unless you wanted blood tests I suppose. Puppy farmers are the worst offenders, as they will keep using one brood bitch over and over again, but register the litters under different parentage.
I dont know if I have explained that well enough, Lankeela will probably put you right if you dont understand me.
