Ducks?

Just saw what I think were two duck in my garden but not sure. They were grey like a pigeon but with two white marks either side of the neck and a white stripe across their wings front to back. They were waddling like ducks too. Were they ducks? If so what type and what would they be looking for in the grass? thanks warpig

Ah, wood pigeons!!!! That will be it, I wasnt sure what they were, I just couldnt decide as they had the qualities of both, thank you burnhal.

Next time I see them I will listen out lankeela. It just through me as I had never seen them in the garden before and they were really plump too. Pigeon pie anyone?
