Kidding! lol
I have a few questions about my lovely kitten Jess (whom those of you who use the new AB can see as my avatar!). She is now almost 4 months, and as lively as ever! lol
1/ Why does she insist on licking my face at 5 or 6 am evrey morning, when she has direct access to food, litter and drink anyway?
2/ Why does she ONLY drink water from inappropriate sources, ie: my glass, the bath, the sink....and NEVER from her bowl, which is kept perfectly fresh?
3/ How on earth do I dry my washing when she attacks ANYTHING that hangs??? lol

There is an advert for Iams that refers to cats playing "pokey paw" in the morning. That is my two.
I hope that you live through the kitten stage - 4 months old...makes me broody.
Frankie and Princess Merlin are two and a half...and I didn't get them until they were 18 months old. I missed the magic kitten stage...thankfully. :-)

Hiya Max - I found out this week that my 6month old boy is a 6month old girl! She and her sister are constantly causing mayhem, licking and nibbling everything in sight. Destroying the clothes horse. Drinking from the tap (I have even found paw prints in the toilet bowl). Smashing plant pots and generally wreaking havoc wherever they go! I love em though :-)
I've also noted that if you have 2 kittens (mine are called Binky & Stella). One goes point so they can warn the other when we are coming to investigate the noise. I've put the childlocks back on the cupboards :-D
Today I found one holding the bin lid open while the other had climbed in to get out the food pouches from breakfast. Climbing over the keyboard while you are typing is another favourite.

Yes, the keyboard one lol
Mine climb inside the bin too Lily! One day I am going to chuck one out by accident. Also, when you're eating, one acts as a distraction whilst the other nabs things from your plate / bowl. And it's impossible to read a book, magazine or newspaper because they want to sit on the pages. My other cat is five and weighs 18lb (he's maine co0n, not overweight!) and he hasn't outgrown this, flipping great lump that he is.

My tom cat sits behind the blinds watching the world go by, but his sister couldn't work out how to get behind the blinds.
I went into the room one day to find Frankie kindly giving his sister, Merlin, a lesson on how to pull the blind out and get behind it.
They keep me on my toes - always up to something mischievous.

Lol! Jess always walks on the laptop when I'm typing - I've discovered functions I'd ever heard of before ! lol
And when I'm in bed and start reading my book, she'll walk over it and sit an inch from my face so I can't read.....
Last night she took ages to find a position to fall asleep in, and she finally settled for laying over my mouth and nose! lol I'm gonna be found dead in my bed one day, with cat hair down my throat...;O)

They are so cute at that age - you can forgive them anything for the entertainment value they give.
My 17 year old still wakes me at inappropriate times despite having food etc. She also insists on drinking from my water glass and the younger cat (she's 10) has ruined several pairs of my tights by playing catch with the washing. So they NEVER grow up (fortunately!)
Flossie has just come in soaked and is trying to help type this

Hi Max
My cat is 13 and he still wakes me in annoying (but endearing!) ways, either by having a mad half hour around the bedroom, or by "combing" my hair with his claws-ouch!
Have read before that cats won't drink fresh tap water in a bowl because to them it smells very "chemical", but that doesn't equate with some cats fascination with a running tap, guess its all part of their contrariness! I gave up providing water years ago,Bruno always drinks from the pond, or dips his paw into my bedside glass of water, ok if I catch him at it, but the times I've taken a bleary swig and almost choked on a cat hair!

You all made me laugh out loud when I read your posts! It's so typical of living with a cat (or cats). I have 5 of the little darlings (?) and although I'm not on mains water (we've got a bore-hole) they still won't drink out of their bowl - they now have a flower vase which seems to have been accepted, although a dripping tap is favourite! Yes, I get woken at all sorts of unearthly hours (as soon as the cockerels start to crow - usually about 4.30am - they decide it's time for breakfast) and this week alone they've broken a wine decanter and murdered one of my houseplants. I'm wondering whether to risk a Christmas tree this year, as I know I'll spend all the time it's up rescuing the decorations from the floor, thanks to my 2 younger pusses, who think it's great fun knocking everything off the tree and then climbing up in the branches!! Oh, well, the joys of having moggies deign to live with us...!!! K xxx
