Nicest of the Canary Islands
I am looking to go to the Canary Islands next year, but I want a resort that is quiet, pretty, good views but more importantly it must be quiet. I went to Lanzarote in 2007 and it was the worst holiday I've ever had, 'Blackpool in the sun' we are a middle aged couple who dont want bright lights and discos any suggestions please.

the sol princessa dacil and fron there you can book excursions allover the island.
there are many quiet parts opf tenerife too.
golf del sur , only noise there are the planes , costa del silencio is very quiet and only a bus ride from any of the major resorts.
you can go to the north of the island to to peurto el a cruz.
theres also los gigantes .
which they say is pretty quiet tho they are trying to get it a bit busier.
theres really a depth of different locations in tenerife .its not all about las americas , which at night can be blackpooly only ecause of the large number of british chavs that like to hang out there

Thank you leg end, tickledtrout, and amsterdamme. I'm really cautious as our holiday last year was completely ruined from day 1, it was our first visit to the C.I's after going to the Greek Islands for over 30 years and never having a bad holiday. Lanzarote was hell, but I'm still prepared to give it another go, as long as I can find somewhere thats very quiet, and within access to the beach. But definitely not Lanzarote again.
You could also try Puerto de Mogan in Gran Canaria. We went in April, nearest disco was a ferry ride to Puerto Rico, there is a very nice manmade beach with restaurants and bars overlooking but nothing 18-30 type. The only thing bad thing was that when we was there there was a lot of building being done on the main road into the harbour but it didn't cause us any disruption
los cris has a great beach
playa las vistas one of the best on tenerife
los cris is quiet enough with the convenience of being near to a lot of other places .
great golf courses and the fact that tenerife has the best tourist attraction in loro parque in the canaries .
the orca show there can only be seen in florida if not there as the whales come from sea world in florida .
its a beautiful island with many different sides to it .
there are some great luxury resorts there if you are willing to pay the cash.

>Maybe try Madeira instead.
This is a VERY good suggestion.
Being a volcanic island it has few beaches and therefore does not attract the young drunken yob crowd.
Lots a great flora and fauna and an island for "older" people.
Not in the Canary Islands though.
