What is the best way to introduce two dogs to avoid a fight?
7 Answers
I have a two year old female staffiie and will be taking her to Leicester to spend Christmas with my family, the only problem is that they have a 5 year old male King Charles cross who apparently tries to hump everything!
How can i introduce the dogs to each other to hopefully avoid a fight and spend three days in peace - hopefully. Lil is normally very calm in my house and gets on well with my other dog - 15year old collie.
What are the chances of her chewing in a new environment - she's not spent any time away from home yet.

Good luck and hope you have a peaceful Christmas.

Thanks, we do have a cage for Lil just in case there is any aggression between the two. I really don't want to have to use it as she doesn't go in her cage at home. I put it up in the day when we leave for walk but thats about it.
She will be going to two different houses, the second is the other dogs home which she will be going to xmas night. They will have had an evening together by then.
She'd best not get preggers this is one ugly cross bred mutt that she'll be with. She's the most gorgeous staff ever - i know i'm biased but she is beautiful.
Merry Christmas!

I would certainly use the cage, it will give you complete peace of mind, especially at night, she may be glad of it to get away from any amorous intentions by the dog! especially as he is such a nuisance in that respect, and it is only for a couple of nights, if you give her treats in there she won't see it as a punishment.
