Dog racism
5 Answers
What is the equivelent of racism in the world of dogs. Enerytime my puppy sees a pit bull it jumps all over it. We were in the park at the weekend and a pit bull came up my puppy started getting ready to pounce and at the same time I took my thai boxing stance ready to plant my foot in the pit bulls head if it even looked the wrong way at my puppy (which I wish it had of done as I hate them too). My puppy jumped all over the ugly freiky thing until the owner pulled it away. But my puppy doesnt do this to other breeds. is this dog racism common?

We had a white bitch who would get very anxious at the sight of a black dog and would squeal in fear if one came close enough to sniff her.
We remembered that, as a pup, she'd made the mistake of wandering into the whelping pen of the black bitch with pups . This dam responded by nipping her . Plainly this pup still had this unconscious memory imprinted and it had survived as an 'irrational' fear and 'prejudice' into adult life!
