lost dog - oldham
20 Answers
my pet dog went missing on 12th feb 08 from Alt estate in Oldham. she's 14 and deaf. she is small, roughhaired crossbreed, walks with a limp and slowly. she doesn't usually wander and doesn't stay out for more than ten minutes but has disappeared intp thin air.
we've posted leaflets on the road she disappeared, put an advert in the local paper, been to dogs homes, phoned vets and the council.
surely someone in Oldham has seen ziggy somewhere? we are all extremely worried and upset.
can anyone in Oldham help us?
Thanks
Sheila

Thanks for your thoughts. it looks like Ziggy has either been killed and put somewhere or been taken in by someone - i hope. just back from manchester Dogs home. I'm begginning to get tearful every time i come out without her so I'm leaving it for a few days in between visits now. Thanks again everyone.

While its something none of us would lke to think about, it does sometimes happen that very old and infirm dogs take themselves off to die somewhere away from their owners.
This is what would happen in the wild, and even when I lost mine old girl on Christmas night she got right under my bed where she never went and curled up and went to sleep, when I felt her she had died.
I do sincerely hope that if this has happened you find her somewhere, so you at least know she went peacefully, and
can have closure.
However, there is still hope and the doglost volunteers will not give up until there is some definite news.

thanks for that.
i believe that she may have just gone off like you suggest but sightings minutes before she vanished suggest she was doing her usual thing - shuffling and sniffing around on the green outside so i'm hoping that's not happened because i can't find her anywhere. just got the Oldham Chron to do a short peice iin their paper so we're still working on the idea she's been taken in somewhere.
