For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Its difficult to know if "speech centres" as such can be assigned, but some animals, such as whales and dolphins, have very complex languages. Chimps appear to be able to learn simple sign language and so do gorillas. The debate rages as to wether this is a pavlovian type learned response or wether the animals think in vocables, with little hope of resolution. Personaly I veer towards the latter.
