If its eating the bird food its likely to come back though. I dont think I could kill a rat even if it were inside, I felt really bad when we had mice once and had to put poison down.
I really love tame rats, they are so sweet, friendly and playful. Its lovely when they run up your arm to your shoulder and sit squeaking in your ear :)

god no i wouldnt like a wild rat running up my arm, especially that one it sounds massive. Awww your poor cat wont be able to enjoy being in the garden with the rat around. I dont know what to suggest to get rid of it other than poison and I really would hate to do that :( but if its under your shed you will have to do something as they can be really vicious if they think they are being threatened. Would be awful if it attacked anyone including the cat.

To me, vermin= spreaders of disease=rats
Hey dusty, if you are happy to have rats living in your garden that is up to you, do yopur neighbours and the council know they are there?, if they get into your house, they will eat through the cables and ruin the loft, but it is obviously up to you, I would get rid now.

Julie derek is a hamster, not a flea ridden, germ carrying rat, derek will do harm this nasty git living under the shed will breed like hell cos they are very sociable animals, he will not be alone.read this and decide.
