Hi,

I am moving and will be taking my aquarium with me of course, it is well established and I don't want to cause alot of disturbance, is the best way to scoop the 5 gurami out in a clear bag of tank water, then empty the rest into a sealable bucket, move the tank to the new house, refill it with the water and get the heater/filter working asap, then put the bag of fish into the water til it gets settled?

Or am i missing a stage?

cheers

Er, is this the same Dotty who, only a short while ago, said that she was trying to break her addiction to AB and wouldn't be around for a while? ;-)

OK, I admit it. I know next to nothing about fish (unless they're on a plate with wedge of lemon). But something here might help:

c\heers for that Chris, I did add a comment on Quoi's thread in Cb that i wouldn;'t be around for a while. that is because i am moving and BT are saying it will take 5-7 days to change our broardband homehub thing from here to there! I don;t think i have any addictions at all really, i have only bought 8 pairs of shoes since Christmas anyway!
Dot -in the past when i had to move tanks i didn't take the tank water but refilled with fresh cold water & 2/3 kettles of boiled water to bring temp up a bit (test with your hand to see if it is near desired temp) get heater working and put bag with the fish into the tank ,open bag after a short while. The bucket of tank water will have changed it's temp anyway by the time you have your tank ready again to put the water in.I would also have put some tonic salt in the water when refilling
