please could you tell me why my dog goes into a room sometimes and stares at the ceiling

Actually I can't tell you but one of my cats stares at a particular part of my bedroom wall - it's spooky sometimes.

Maybe you have mice. Dogs and cats have very good hearing.

Probably seen a ghost, but don't worry about it they can see things we can't.

What time of day does your dog do this? It could be the dog is seeing shadows moving about.

Although, they probably can see things we can't. My partner's mother's dog sometimes stares into thin air at night and starts barking for no apparent reason.

You may have a dead body under the upstairs floorboards and the dog can smell it. I mean an rat or something not human .......I hope.

Our collie looks at light on the ceiling...especially reflected off a shiny surface.
