Does anyone know the poem from which these lines come----"my little dog stands at the gate 'til fed by stranger's hand, and long 'ere I come back again he'll tear me where I stand"

Tthink the words are right, quite old It hink, Irish possibly.

Many thanks in advance.
Brenda.
