My cat has been stolen by a neighbour. To make it worse the cat is due to give birth ( I now believe she has). I have reported it to the police as theft but they don't seem to bothered and said they would come round then didn't turn up and are now not sure when they can come.

I want my cat back.

Any ideas? Yes I have asked for it and she refuses point blank.

Can you get the RSPCA involved? If the cat is yours why is your neighbour refusing to hand her back? I don't understand.
Question Author
We have and have reported it as theft under the Theft Act 1968.

Hi,

The RSPCA or Cat Protection can't help until the Police have taken action.

I don't understand either. This woman even got my boy cat nutered without my concent. She is mad and clearly wants them SHe doesn't think I look after them properly and is activly trying to tempt them away. Also I think she wants the money from selling the kittens.

gt back onto the police again then, and phone your local paper
If the police don't take action then you may need to contact your MP. She has no right to do anything to any your cats. If shes got a problem with you then she is the one who should contact the RSPCA and not take matters into her own hands.

What is she accusing you of doing to them anyway?
maybe she hasn't got your cat but your cats gone somewhere quite to give birth - aww kittens are soo cute!!
Question Author
Paper, yes, I wonder if they'd be interested?

I know - the thing is the RSPCA would come round and see they are looked after. It's probably because I haven't gotten them nutered yet as I wanted the girl to have one lot of kittens first and then I was going to get them done together.

They are flead and have ID colars on and everything. I am going to get them chipped now as well.

And she confessed to me she had the cat - it and the five kittens are under her bed.
seriously ring the police again
It's very hard to keep a cat where they don't want to be.
omg in that case she sound like a nutter now, if you have the guts too walk in to her house and see if they're there or go to a police station and force them to listen to you!!
Try the police again before she sells your kittens. You've probably got about 8 weeks before she does attempt to sell them.
Im so sorry. I really do hope you get her and family back. I would be heartbroken if someone stole ours. Hes 17 now but has gone missing twice for about two weeks at a time and I couldnt sleep thinking he might be laying injured or dead somewhere. I dont know how Im going to be when he eventually dies.
Good Luck
My friend's cat was stolen by neighbours who then moved across town. We found out where they lived and then designed and printed 20 or so A5 leaflets and posted them to every house in that street apart from where the thieves lived.

A lady down the road from the thieves read the leaflet, lured the cat into her house (with chicken) and called us. We got the cat back!!!! The lady didn't like cats - in fact they scared here, but she was a star. It's amazing how decent people can be over things.

The wording was something like this:
CAT STOLEN
Believed to be living now in Bloggs Street.
Description, etc. (Good photo)
Police have been notified.
Cash reward for safe return subject to ID chip verification at by a vet. (reward we gave was 50)
Please call: 000000000

I'm not sure if I can give out my e-mail address on here.. as I'd happily lay out the leaflet for you to print out at home.

The police consider cats as 'feral' animals so they're not interested in helping out - we explored all that side of things.

All the best,
I dunno what to suggest but that is just awful and I hope to god you get them all back safe and well soon such a horrible thing to do!!!!

Thanks for all your feedback. The Crime Bureau is dealing with it we hope. If not loving a flyer warning other cat owners in the area of this.
Let us know what happens Clippyjo.
i really hope you get her back but till then make a pain of yourself to the police to force them to do something about it and start printing your posters before she gets the chance to do it again
