Perhaps you should try it by putting a cat and dog in a small enclosed space and just letting nature run its course. Are you tring to keep cats out of your garden by letting your dog crap all over it?

Cats will go where they must, but they prefer their own space. However, being from Texas, I know that if you let dogs out in the back yard, their droppings will keep the snakes out. :)
