To officially join up with the A&N Department (Pets Section). I went to view some kittens today (fully intending to adopt a ginger male kitten....lol) and am now the proud owner-to-be of two female cats, neither of whom are kittens nor ginger...
I fell in love with an 8 year old tabby and a 1 year b&w .................................................. who both entranced me with their nature, attitude and cuddliness (is that a real word ?). The 8 y.o. was so laid back, placid and easy going that we clicked straight away. She also looked like she really needed to be in a real home environment, not a cat shelter, poor wee thing... The b&w was miss curiosity herself and ended up in my arms - great fun ahead I think !

It is a special person who adopts adult cats. I wish you many happy years with your "girls" - I am sure that you will love them and that they will have a lovely home with you.
I am sat here with my old lady who I adopted at the age of 2 nearly 16 years ago - you have lots of fun ahead of you.

LOL Pusspuss.... I think you might be right there !
So far, I have spent a fortune (and rightly so) in The Range.... on stuff for my new friends... cat beds (both are like little houses (ok, hidey places - one is like an multi coloured igloo and the other is like a cuddly indoor kennel), food bowls, litter trays etc etc. When I get a chance to take a pic of new friends in their special homes, I'll post it up. The superdooper Pet Porte cat flap has already been installed and since both cats have been microchipped, all I have to do is program them in. I will keep them indoors for at least a week or so though, until they are happy with each other and being here... it's yet another traumatic time for the wee critters.

Yep, DrFilth.... definitely the Ritz (Cat) Hotel here !
The owners of the cat shelter bring the cats to me so that the cats don't feel they are being taken away, but are being *moved into new loving homes*, sometime early next week hopefully. That also ensures that the shelter can be sure of where the cats are going too ! Don't worry, you lot will sure hear of the next developments !

Wow Juggles! You've sort of copied me haven't you. Lol
Back in 2001 I went to Battersea Dogs & Cats home to get 2 kittens. I ended up with 2 year old Tigger the tabby and 2 year old Bluey who is black. They wouldn't allow me to have kittens as I work all day so I had a browse and fell in love with Tiggy and Bluey. They are 8 now and still very naughty little kitties. Lol
I still miss my little Snoopy though. He was put down on my birthday in 2000. He was 15 and had kidney failure.

Well my old lady was downstairs yelling at 4am today - she usually comes up and does that in my ear but today her thinking was that she would get me up to see what was wrong - absolutely nothing as it turns out.
Juggerling your cats will take over and non-cat people will think you are crazy for putting up with it but they are such characters you can't help but love them. I wouldn't change my 2 for the world.

Thanks everybody for welcoming me to the *Slaves to cats club* .... I'm well aware of the trials and tribulations I will have to face (having had slave masters and mistresses in the past), I'd forgotten all about the joys of the 4 am playtime start, the warm laps, snuggled toes (brilliant in cold weather) and cuddles.
