Congratulations on his success!
Lankeela you beat me to it. Many thanks to everyone who offered advice and encouragement. I am so proud I could burst! George was completely unfazed by the large flapping tent, thousands of people and even more dogs. He wagged his tail all day. Glynn took him into the ring and when the judge came over to him he stood with his head up facing forward, tail wagging like a pro. The only problem we had was when he spotted me on his run and came careering over to mummy. I hid and he continued without a hitch. Mr thugulike was reassured to see other mastiff handlers being towed around and thinks he can probably make quite a good job himself

We're going to practice, practice, practice. Seeing so many other mastiffs was brilliant and I learned a little about what makes a good dog.

We drove up and down on Saturday, Edinburgh is only about 2.5 hours from Penrith. We had visitors who made a fuss of George yeaterday morning and more visitors (who are afraid of dogs) yesterday afternoon. He went all clingy last night and wanted to lean on us and cuddle. Do you think he was missing the limelight?

Many many thanks, especially to lankeela and jules.

Lankeela how did you know what George had done?
Well done George! thugulike, you must be so proud! I am expecting photos ;)

If you go to the Fosse Data website (they are the show printers) they put all the results up during each day.

Well done once again, now you have had time to digest what you have achieved!

When's the next show? lol

Sorry meant to say click on the list of shows and SKC is the latest one. Then scroll down to Working Group, and each breed is listed, so click on Mastiffs. There you will see your (and George's) name in glorious technicolour.
Congrats...I bet you are so proud of your boy.Well done to you and of course Fearnought George Formby.

The August SKC show has Mastiff classes, and this time there are split dog and bitch classes, so he will be able to go in Junior Dog.

You also have Leeds in July, Driffield (at Wetherby) and Darlington in September.

Al the championship shows are listed on either Fosse Data or Higham Press. If you get either of the weekly dog papers Dog World or Our Dogs they also list all the Open Shows which are held more locally. Not all will have Mastiff classes, so you would go into Any Variety Not Separately Classified. You need to enter them about 3 or 4 weeks before the date of the show.
Are there any recent photographs of George - Mastiff's are gorgeous. My not Gorgeous George?
Very very well done, the first show is always the hardest, I wish you all the best of luck for the future.........and hope to see Mr Thugulike in the ring soon!!

Crufts maybe???
