I can't bear rescue dog 'adverts' that are written in the first 'person' (or first dog, anyway!) they break my heart. I was particularly smitten with Mylo, Ben, Bruce and Bart!
Thanks for the link, it'll certainly prove useful in years to come, or for anyone I know who would like a Rescue.

Oh dear, I want all of them. I read at the weekend that there are more Staffies in rescue centres than any other breed. They are really lovely dogs and not aggressive unless they are taught to be by there owners. They are being purchased as 'Status Symbols' and quickly become redundant.
I would love to take on more dogs but I simply can't afford it and quite honestly can't manage it any more.
Feel sad now too.

I too would open up some kind of animal sanctuary if i won lots of money, greyhounds who cannot race any longer, dogs partly trained for security that don't meet the criteria.
Also i don't want to upset anyone here but i i have just read some of the dogs stories on the link above and there was a cocker spaniel who is 6 months old and need homing already, he has been taunted and mistreated by children which i guess the previous owners found perfectly ok - but what if the dog were to turn on a child..........then who would be to blame, the dog no doubt!! Put to sleep and give the breed a bad reputation.
I am not saying all dog attacks have been due to children provoking them. What i am saying is the poor dogs upbringing is always forgotten, just that they are dangerous.
This country doesn't do enough to ensure dogs are homed correctly. I cannot abide any animal cruelty and i fear what i might do should i ever come across some one in the act of any - i would probably end up in prison.
I don't feel shocked anymore when i read the papers about shootings and stabbings but i always feel so much anger when i read of deliberate animal cruelty......
Ok, sorry...said my piece.
