I've just seen something that was rather cute, but don't know what it was.

It's a moth of some sort, it has white wings, which were closed but not just laying down its back, they looked like they were sealed together. The upper half of its body was poking out and is yellow and furry and it has orange legs.

What could it have been, please?

LOL, that's exactly what I said to my colleague "awww cute, it looks like a chick with wings" LMAO!

I never think beasties are cute either LOL
But chicks do have wings Lakitu! Well all the ones I have seen do!! ;o).

I think bees are very cute by the way. Lovely furry bumble bees!
Question Author
PMSL! I know chicks have wings, but not moth wings!

I find bees cute too, you want to pick it up and stroke it (I know that would be silly)

Right, I'm going to go and take a pic and find an area I can link it to you that isn't blocked from work....
I eagerly await this!!

I've taken 2 pics but every single photo hosting site I try is blocked! :'(
Damn nuisance these employers aren't they!

I am now going on another google search. Now lets see.........

This seems to be a very static moth!! Are you sure it's not one of those Easter Cake decorations!!
Question Author
LOL, I will upload to photobucket as soon as I get home and you're right, they ARE pesky employers, trying to spoil our fun!

LOL, I don't think it is, it would be weird having that on a cake, no matter how cute it is on the wall, though I did think it odd that it was still there when I went back. It could be a baby that's scared to move. Or sunbathing.
if you can email me the pics lakitu i'll stick em up on tinypic for you
Oh my gosh, do we have to wait until after tea Lakitu? I am on the edge of my seat! I love moths, I find them fascinating. And like you and Lottie, I love bumbly bees. They do look veeeerrrryyy strokable :)

When I was in the bath the other night, I picked up the jug to rinse my hair off, saw something on the other side of it, turned round and put it right up to my face, as I can't see a thing without my specs (!) and sure ebough it was a moth! It panicked, and I panicked, and it flapped in my face, and then flew onto the wall. It has been in or around my bathroom ever since. I am quite taken with it!

In answer to your Q, Lakitu, I have no idea hun!

Oh! This is interesting Lakitu. I am intrigued to find out what the little critter is!

Re: Big furry bumble bees ......... when I was a wee girl many years ago - I caught a bumble in my hands - I thought it looked so cuddly!!!! Silly me! You can guess what happened - ....... ouch!!!! I recovered but poor bumble bee!!!

I now admire them from a distance - we have many plants in the garden to attract them and still I love to watch those busy bees!! :o)

Looking forward to finding out about your little visitor. x

The first pic on the 2nd link is REALLY similar, except Michaels (my moth) wings are lot lighter and look like they're stuck together, which is why I'm wondering if it's young or something.

Chuck will get the pic to you soon.....
That last one was the male ghost swift moth. Perhaps Michael is a young one then.
