Can I use the melon seeds - rinsed for the birds in my garden?

Hi deedee...I would be careful at this time of year,there are alot of youngsters about and the seeds might well be too big for them.If you could go to the trouble of chopping them up they might be ok then.g
Yeah, they make great treats for the likes of the Tits and Jays. The smaller birds won't touch them if the seeds are too big for them.
Melon, and especially Pumpkin seeds have an intoxicating effect on any internal parasites so are more than nutritionally beneficial, they also shift roundworm and the likes.
melon seeds seem extravagant for time of year. There are plenty of natural plants and seeds this time of year for the birds, plus worms, bugs etc. I advise you store your seeds for the hard times in winter....or plant them to increase stock for winter feeding.
