Scabs on my bald scalp
5 Answers
I'm 73 and for a few years have had cradle-cap like scabs on my head. Each takes several weeks to grow, then drops off. My doctor tells me they are caused by yeasts growing on the head. (If I must be bald, why can't I have one polished like a billiard ball?!).
Several ointments and lotions have been pretty useless.
In the past I've had the largest ones frozen but would like to know if that treatmment causes that area to be immune for the future..

If you had hair it would show as dandruff. Ask your chemist for an antifungal cream and use it daily. Wash your head with anti-dandruff shampoo (daft as it seems) twice a week.
DO NOT use any form of moisturising cream whatsoever, so wear a hat in the sun - preferably a panama type hat that allows your scalp to breathe without swaddling or irritating it, or cause it to sweat.
