bee boxes

Look I'm not being impatient or anything, but I'm fed up with waiting for someone to answer me on gardening or animals, and I know you lot know everything SO. 2 years ago I installed a bee box. When they go in they block the hole with aleaf, This year should I unblock the tubes or leave them be. How do the bees get in and out?
