Wheelie Bins and the urban Fox.
6 Answers
Have you noticed a significant decline in the urban fox since the introduction of wheelie bins?
At my Sussex home, there were still plenty as I was in the countryside, but I can't recall the last time i saw an urban one, especially as I am in a big city now.
Bring back the urban fox, is what I say.
Magnificent beasts!!!!

It was great to watch them running around burying some(even if it was on my front lawn).about 10 foot from my window.
Havent noticed any this year tho.

As most of you know I feed some foxes near our local wood nearly every night, the wood is only a short distance from the town center. The other night I was feeding them when a police car drew up and watched for a while then the police officer got out and said she now knew why there weren't so many in the town center at night, they were all coming to me to be fed! There were 14 at the last count! Beautiful creatures. Webbo if you've got any eggs to spare they love them, raw ones though and I kow what you mean by the sausages.

Would suggest that Bristol foxes are still prolific. Perhaps since the extensive filming of them in Bristol they no longer show themselves for free and only do commissioned and paid for work.

I live in bristol and have a book about urban foxes and remember the bbc doing a series of programmes about them(I think the book goes with the series), so my fox(es) may be a decendent of the ones from all those years ago.
Hi gelda....loved those pics you posted a while ago, hope you and them are doing well.
