Hi

I have 4 lovely friendly cats but there is a cat that lives across the pathway from us that is a real bully and is always attacking other cats in the neighbourhood, between my 4 I have had to pay to treat 6 abscesses because this cat has bitten them, the cat is unneautered, do I have any right against the owner in making her either neuter her cat or at least pay some of my vet bills?

thanks very much

I think you need to confront the owner, and explain the trouble you are having with her Cat, take the vets bills with you as proof if you need to, but you can't just ignore it, as it may only get worse, and you do not want to pay any more vets bills...

Thanks fro answering me so quickly! I know a guy who lives behind us has already gone to see her and well lets just say she didnt care so I wondered if we had any actual legal rights.....
In a way all owners of livestock must ensre that their animals are not causing a threat etc to others, I sppose that if it is vicious to other cats it's being agressive to humans aswell, it may be worth phoning the RSPCA or equivalent to see where you stand, and also to get advice regarding the situation. They will be able to advise you more than I can.

Thanks very much, I will do :)
Does this cat come over to your place and attack your cats or do your cats leave your property when they are attacked.
This is crucial to any claim you may or may not have.
