I have a half loaf of bread that has gone a little furry and i was going to go down to the river and feed it to the ducks. But i thought I better try and find out if mouldy bread is ok for ducks (and geese) to eat before i go. Should i try to pick of the worst of it or can i just give them the whole thing?
The kindest action would be to put it in the bin, wallyboots.
Even though we've all been guilty of feeding bread to wildfowl ( not mouldy!) at some time in the past, it's now recognised as harmful, and in a lot of cases causing death as the bread swells up and chokes the birds.
