It is popularly thought to have been invented by Sir Isaac Newton who was annoyed by the disturbance to his concentration caused by his cat "asking" to be let out and in all the time

It was 'Pussy Flapper' in 882BC - did'nt make any money from it though - no front doors in those days!

Did Newton not make a pop-hole for the mother cat, plus a separate one for each kitten? And people say he had no sense of humour. (Don't think his had flaps though).
