So animals can't love either, IAP?
When my cat climbs all over me, purring, puts her paws on my shoulders and licks my face, it's not affection?
Well, I'll be! Maybe she hates me after all??? ;O)

Btw, this is the cutest thread title I have seen in a while! :O)
Max - cupboard love is the closest animals get to affection.

Its so obvious the animal lovers in here and the ones that aren't, yes Munkeh it is a way of showing you love, or at least with dogs it is, I read a book called "The dog listener" many years ago and have over the years shared my life with several animals, a timid terrified dog will not lick you for example when you bring him home from the kennels, when they begin to trust their lick is like an affectionate kiss. As usual on here the typical people will reject my response to you, but trust me mate anyone who has shared their life completely and worships their pets have different views to others, Munkeh enjoy.. I however do agree that its a type of putting their scent on you, if I go in the bath or put moisturiser on they start licking me to cover me in their scent again, who cares why they do it as long as we love them and they love us!!"!!
Well, we'll have to agree to disagree! :O)
max 2 right mate, at least when I read your responses they are honest, unique and sensible, Answerbank please bring us more "max" onto here xx take care max and look 4wd to sharing more threads with you.
Well! I'm going to print your post, Banana-Girl, and frame it! :O) lol
Not really. As has been said, it likes the taste of salt on your skin. Rabbits don't show affection to other animals, even other rabbits. But it does show that your bunny is perfectly at ease with you, which is good.
If you feel that your rabbit says "I love you" by licking you, than that is great as love is interpreted in different ways by different people.
Animals may not have a 'comprehension of the word affection' but they definately give it. I dont know about rabits but my puppy want to be as close to us as possible, nuzzles against us and would lick you to death if allowed! Whats that if not affection?
Munkeh I'm sure your bunny is showing his care and love for you when he wants to be close and licks your hand. Enjoy!
