If your question is genuine, could you tell us more. We used to breed ornamental pheasants in the 90s but never heard of a 'back protector'.
Question Author
its a genuine question honest. we have a very active cockerel and favours one particular hen, she has no feathers left on her back and we have been told to get a back protector normally used for breeding pheasants.
I asked someone who breeds pheasants, and the answer was they do not use such a thing, but during the breeding season they usually put one male to four females, and because the males get a bit over enthusiastic, they make sure the claws are clipped, just take the tips off, because it is the claws grabbing the back of the female that cause the damage. This is often the case with chickens too. Some duck breeds suffer, and another person said they knew of someone who makes dog coats who had made a protective jacket for a female duck whose partner was constantly jumping on her and wearing away her feathers.

So basically, cut his nails, and if necessary get someone to make her a jacket!
