My cattle definitely do not run after trains. I'm not sure exactly why, but it may have something to do with the line running past their field having been closed in the 1960s (what a wise and good man Dr Beeching was...). What makes you think they do really run after trains...?

As a boy ( pre Beeching)I recall chugging round the highlands of Scotland on delightfully ponderous steam drawn trains and suddenly without warning whole herds of cows would trot alongside from one end of the field to the other and stare benignly after us like mothers waving off the children on a day trip to the seaside.Yes cows do run after trains . but why why why.
